Pictures at an Exhibition presents images of one notable show every weekday.
Today’s show: “Between two rounds of fire, the exile of the sea: Arab Modern and Contemporary Works from the Barjeel Art Foundation” is on view at American University Museum in Washington, D.C., through Saturday, December 17. The group exhibition, curated by Barjeel Art Foundation director Karim Sultan, presents work that “explore ideas around violence,” according to a press release. Among the artists included in the show are Akram Zataari, Ali Cherri, Athar Jaber, Charbel-Joseph H. Boutros, Huda Lufti, Khaled Hourani, Mona Hatoum, Ziad Antar, Taysir Batniji, and Walid Raad.
